Event Management Internship
PINCC is seeking an event intern to support our mission of preventing cervical cancer globally. This internship is where you’ll do more than get coffee or write drafts that may never make it beyond your computer. Our internship program provides college students (and recent grads) with real-world work and knowledge.
Note: Interns must commit to one semester for a minimum of 10 hours of work per week, with some flexibility to fit your schedule. The typical schedule is weekdays between 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, and attendance at every event committee meeting is usually every other Monday evening until the month before the event when they are weekly. Event Date: April 20th, 2024. Our internships are unpaid. We can work with universities to offer course credit.
Location: New Braunfels, TX. Hybrid office setting. (U.S.-based only)
Duration: Spring 2024 Semester.
Scoop of Responsibilities
Research and Best Practices: Research and implement best practices for fundraising events, campaigns, and donor engagement.
Event Procurement: Secure event offers such as silent auctions, live auctions, games, and raffles during events.
Marketing and Promotion: Contribute to event marketing efforts, including social media promotion, email campaigns, and creating promotional materials.
Volunteer and Participant Engagement: Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers for events, ensuring a positive volunteer experience. Additionally, interact with event participants, attendees, and donors to provide a positive experience and address inquiries or concerns.
Donor Management: Support donor stewardship, including thank you letters, maintaining donor records, and effective donor communication.
Donor Records: Maintain and update donor records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Committee Support: Collaborate with the event committee in daily interactions with individual and corporate donors, draft fundraising emails, and provide administrative support, including scheduling, budget tracking, and record-keeping.
Event Planning: Contribute to fundraising events' planning, night of event coordination, and success.
Requirements:
Passion for Women’s Health and Global Equity
A reliable laptop and cell phone are required to communicate regularly via email and telephone.
Current enrollment in a college/university program or recent graduate with a degree in event management, non-profit management, marketing, or a related field.
Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Interest in nonprofit management
